VICTORIA, B.C.—The Royal BC Museum will visit Colwood, B.C., the future home of the museum’s collections and research building, on Saturday Sept. 25, to meet members of the community and share information about the museum’s programs, collections, research and exhibitions.
The community is invited to Meet the Museum from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at three locations throughout Colwood, and join the museum learning team for hands-on, family-friendly activities.
“We are looking forward to introducing, or in many cases re-introducing, Colwood residents to all of the fun activities that take place at the museum,” says Hanna Cho, Head of Learning and Community Engagement, Royal BC Museum. “In addition, we are excited to get to meet our new neighbours and learn about the Colwood community.”
Look for the Royal BC Museum van and white tent at each location. At all three locations, visitors will be invited to play museum and archives trivia, and earn prizes.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover the natural history collection, at each of the three stops. Participants will try to guess what specimens from the eight different collections are, as well as playing sorting games.
